WHAT IS SPORTS THERAPY?

Sports Therapy is an aspect of health care that deals with a range of musculoskeletal injuries caused by physical exercise, playing sport or simply an occupational injury.

 

Sports Therapy provides a multidisciplinary approach and can be part of the sports medicine team.

 

Sports Therapy also provides injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation to enable the athlete to regain full fitness and a quick return to sport.

 

As Sports Therapist Kelly is able to:

  • Provide first aid and attend to injuries in a recreational, training and competitive environment.
  • Assess musculoskeletal injuries and provide optimal treatment
  • Provide sports massage pre and post activity.
  • Implement appropriate rehabilitation programmes using various techniques to insure peak levels of fitness on return to sport and exercise.
  • Utilise sports and exercise principles to enhance preparation and injury prevention programmes.
  • Provide Personal Training to non injured Individuals.
  • Use ultrasound, interferential and taping treatments 
  • Provide sports conditioning programs.

 

As a sports therapist it is kelly's ethical duty to ensure that you are treated by the best means possible, she fully insured and has undertaken an accredited program of study and achieved a high standard of knowledge.
